Here’s a full process of installing a DOS classic Syndicate (Bullfrog Productions/Electronic Arts, 1993) from five 3.5 inch floppy disks. All authentic hardware. Enjoy the sounds of a working floppy drive.
Orthodox bi-panel file manager Volkov Commander is used in this video because I can’t live without a bi-panel file manager. If you don’t have one, you’re missing out.

“We were somewhere around the comments section, on the edge of YouTube, when the anger began to take hold.” Russian video-blogger Dmitry Bachilo returns to discuss what it is like to be a retro gaming-centered content creator. In between being silly and self-deprecating about our hobby we also manage to discuss some serious issues, and give honest advice. “We can’t stop here. This is .BAT country!”
Here are some guest appearances that I’ve done for Alexander Mejia of Human Interact. Check them out!
First we played DOOM multiplayer while talking about the game and its cultural impact:
Then we played *both* PC versions of the classic adventure game LOOM™ side by side to be able to comments on the differences. Huge props to Alexander for pulling it off:
And then Alexander played one of my favorite games of all time – Another World (aka Out of This World) while I shared my commentary on the game, and his performance. I even got to pick up the controls during one tough part:

Testing my new streaming setup and playing the CD-ROM version of Coktel Vision’s trippy classic “Inca” (1993).
Watch me fail at the game, then attempt to cheat, then actually cheat, then crash the game. Overall it was a rather fun evening.
Sorry for all the audio dropouts. Apparently Gilles Douieb recycled a tune from the game in a movie thirteen years later, so I got a copyright strike on this video. Usually YouTube offers a “Remove Song” option that filters the copyrighted material out, but leaves everything else intact. Sadly this wasn’t what happened here, and the function just ended up muting small chunks of the video.

A talk that I gave at Long Island Retro Gaming Expo 2018. Absolutely loved the event, and enjoyed being involved in it. I wanted the talk to be more entertaining than educational because I was anticipating an audience that wouldn’t be all that familiar with IBM PC gaming scene. I haven’t done any public speaking prior to this in about a decade, so I was a bit nervous. Enjoy the talk, and if you’re in New York/Long Island area in 2019, consider attending this event, and maybe I’ll see you there.

Mat Bradley-Tschirgi returns for the third time, and this time we’re talking about all the classic (and not so classic) Sim-games developed and/or published by Maxis Software.
Decided to relax a little bit and play one of my favorite games of all time. Apologies for my voice cutting out so often. Not really sure what the issue was.

Here’s a pretty cool Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis (Lucasarts, 1992) interactive demo. A choice of the part is somewhat surprising, as this is something that happens rather late in the game (Spoilers!). I’ve decided to stick with MT-32 music for this one.
A slightly larger than the floppy demo in file size, this is a really short demo designed to showcase the upcoming CD talkie version of the game (1993). Nothing particularly special about it, just a cutscene from a game that doesn’t even feature Indy himself. Recorded with Sound Blaster sound.
In case you didn’t make it to my Saturday night stream, here it is archived on YouTube:

Join me as I recall my first time encountering the legendary American spy William Joseph “B.J.” Blazkowicz, and his heroic adventures in samey looking Nazi fortresses known as Wolfenstein 3D (id Software/Apogee Software, 1992). Why are all the turkey dinners on the floor? Is that some sort of a German thing? Mein leben!
I’ve decided to play DJ again and present to you another selection of cool tunes from DOS games. Relax and enjoy this CD, General MIDI, AdLib, MT-32, and tracker music.
Decided to throw an unplanned stream for DOS Nostalgia patrons. Played a few random games. Thanks to everyone who stopped by despite Game Done Quick and The Golden Globes.
WARNING: Strong language throughout, ESPECIALLY when playing Zorro.
Games in this stream: Croustibat, Zorro, Crow (Ворона), Tetris Classic, and Bart vs. Space Mutants.
