Full Throttle demo
Here’s an interactive demo of Full Throttle (Lucasarts, 1995). This huge (over 170 megabytes) demo was obviously meant for coverdisks, and despite its size is rather short. It’s just a few interactive sequences sandwiched between two in-engine trailers for the game. Most interesting thing is the narration that was recorded specifically for this demo, and […]
Fuzzy’s World of Miniature Space Golf soundtrack
Check out this upbeat soundtrack from an obscure shareware title Fuzzy’s World of Miniature Space Golf (Pixel Painters Software, 1995). The game uses Loudness sound system, the same one used in Tyrian. Unfortunately no composer is credited. Download MP3 archive here: http://www.dosnostalgia.com/files/fuzzy_ost.zip
MS-DOS Games in 1995
And once again it’s time to look back at DOS games from 20 years ago. Despite the release of Windows 95, MS-DOS gaming was still alive & well. Many of the 3D games of that era supported high resolution SVGA graphics. Unfortunately I didn’t have the hardware necessary to show them off, so instead I […]

Command & Conquer installation program
A cool installation program for the original Command & Conquer (Westwood Studios/Virgin Interactive Entertainment, 1995) featuring voice, effects & some craziness at the end. MobyGames page: http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/command-conquer
“Happy Birthday!” (Nikita, 1995) a Russian edutainment game playthough
“Happy Birthday!” is a cool little edutainment game developed & published by Nikita Ltd. in 1995. It’s actually a rather well known title. It was marketed as a game which supposed to teach your child English, but I personally think it falls short in that aspect. But it’s still a fun little game with colorful […]
“Black Zone” introduction
The introduction sequence and a tiny bit of gameplay from a Russian MS-DOS game “Black Zone” (DOKA Company, 1995, CD-ROM release). Made by Aleksey Silaev, it appears to a be a spiritual successor to his little known gem “Mick”. This game is very rare and almost completely unknown even in Russia.
“Full Throttle” review
Bikes, gangs, betrayal, asphalt and trouble in this amazing 1995 Tim Schafer masterpiece. A game with tons of charisma. An adventure game that coined the verb coin.
